The Importance of a website
In today’s high-tech marketplace, having a website is almost as essential as having a business card. Not too long ago, the best way to get your business across to people was by mailing them a brochure, or by placing a yellow page ad. However, with the advent of the internet, spreading the word about what you do, and establishing that uber-important first impression has never been easier.
Now, when people want to learn more about your company, all they have to do is reach out and touch you… in cyberspace. With a well designed website, even the most smallest of companies can look like they belong in Fortune 500, and even the most modest of start-ups can reach only dreamed of goals.
Combined with the right market strategy, word of mouth, and little or no advertising, a website can often make or break your business. Aside from that eight pound talking head that sits above your shoulders, how are your clients going to reach you for help, or learn more? Place orders, or convey to others just what you do?
A website is a window into your world. A key that unlocks the mysteries of your business. All too often, people assume that only a website that gets lots of hits will help them. Well, most websites are not built to get lots of hits, they are built to provide information to those few, but very important people that are seeking it out.
All of these reasons may be the right reason to get a professional website, but for me, the most important reason is NETWORKING. Never underestimate the power of the person sitting next to you on a plane, or the friend of a friend you just met at a party, or even your hairdresser. Nothing is more powerful in today’s marketplace than NETWORKING. And nothing in networking is more powerful than a URL.
“What’s that? You’d like to learn more? WWW._____.com!”
Does your business NEED a website? The simple answer is yes. A website can be the most powerful tool, and the most lethal weapon in your arsenal of success. The digital world is calling, it’s up to you to answer.
